The Road of Perfection: Kettlebells, Chakras, and the Flow of Energy

When you begin practicing kettlebell skills, you embark on what I like to call the Road of Perfection. We pursue the perfect swing, the perfect clean, the perfect press… but perfection is never simply a destination. It is a path we walk through continuous practice, patience, and refinement. And every now and then, a repetition feels just right. The movement flows, the timing clicks, the power feels effortless, and the entire body works as one. Those moments are incredibly satisfying. For me, the kettlebell swing is especially fascinating because so much of its magic happens around the hips, abdomen, and center of the body.

After many years as a yoga practitioner and teacher, I’ve become deeply interested in how we generate, direct, and experience energy through movement. In the yogic tradition, the seven main chakras are understood as subtle energy centers along the spine. Three are particularly interesting when viewed through the lens of kettlebell training: Muladhara, the root chakra, associated with grounding and stability; Svadhisthana, the sacral chakra, associated with the lower abdomen, fluidity, and movement; and Manipura, the solar plexus chakra, associated with personal power, confidence, and transformation. In yoga, postures, breathing practices, and focused awareness are used to explore the relationship between these centers and our sense of balance and vitality.

I believe we can use their symbolism to deepen our awareness of movement and give our training a richer purpose.

Now consider the kettlebell swing. We root ourselves into the ground, hinge powerfully through the hips, stabilize the trunk, and coordinate our breathing with the movement. Energy is transferred from the ground through the body and into the kettlebell. Strength meets rhythm. Stability meets fluidity. Intention becomes action. Although chakras belong to a spiritual framework rather than established anatomical structures, I find it meaningful to explore how these principles can complement physical training. The swing becomes more than a way to develop strength, speed, and power; it becomes a practice in awareness, coordination, and connection. It can also teach us about grounding, fluidity, focus, and the balance between tension and relaxation.

Perhaps this is where ancient wisdom and modern training meet. We may use different language, but both invite us to develop a stronger connection with our bodies, move with intention, and discover what we are capable of through consistent practice.

Keep walking the Road of Perfection. Refine your movement, cultivate your strength, and let every repetition bring you closer to your own Inner Force.

Plant your feet. Move with intention. Breathe with purpose. Train your body, focus your mind, and cultivate your Inner Force, one swing at a time.

From AMRAP to Strength: Our Next Chapter

We have officially completed our AMRAP cycle, and I couldn’t be prouder of what our group has accomplished. Week after week, I watched our kettlebellers push beyond their limits. Not just in numbers and repetitions, but in courage, determination, and strength. We challenged our bodies, tested our minds, and discovered reserves we might not have known existed. I’d even venture to say that we touched something deeper: our spirit. We faced each challenge bravely, surpassed expectations, and proved that we are capable of far more than we sometimes believe.

Now, we’re moving into a new strength cycle, shifting our focus toward building greater strength through purposeful practice, quality movement, and consistent effort. This is our opportunity to build on the foundation we’ve developed, refine our kettlebell skills, and continue progressing together. Every training session is a chance to improve, not by rushing or chasing numbers, but by showing up, embracing the work, and gradually becoming stronger.

My hope is to see everyone reading this newsletter join us for this next chapter. Bring your curiosity, your determination, and your willingness to learn. We’ll keep challenging ourselves, supporting one another, and celebrating progress along the way.

One cycle completed. A new challenge begins. Let’s keep moving forward, growing stronger, and building our Inner Force together.
